The conifer forests are only a walk away providing a tranquil location for picnics. Esentepe remains unspoiled by modernisation making it a very special place in Northern Cyprus. It is a traditional village and you will find the local people both friendly and welcoming. Esentepe is a large village with a doctor’s surgery, police station plus primary & secondary schools. Korineum Golf Club is close by with its International Tournament Standard Course witch includes a Golf academy, driving range, pro-shop and fine restaurant. Also the public Alagadi Turtle Beach, the longest beach in Northern Cyprus, is within easy reach. During the summer the female turtles come to the beach to lay their eggs and early autumn the tiny hatchlings make their heroic bid for the Mediterranean Sea. |
Esentepe in Northern Cyprus
The traditional village of Esentepe in Northern Cyprus is almost unique these days in that it has not been renovated. A 5 minute drive will take you to where it sits on a hill near the Kyrenia Mountains where you can enjoy the wonderful sea and mountain views. Close by is Turtle Beach that stretches for miles. The forests are just a walk up into the mountains for nature lovers and picnics. For golfers the International Championship Golf Course at Korineum is just a few minutes drive away as is the new Marina that will open in 2009 at Bahcheli. Bahceli is a substantial village with a doctor, police station and schools. The local inhabitants are warm and welcoming and are always happy to see visitors at the football matches held in the local stadium. |
